A large-scale modernization of transport infrastructure is being held under "Nurly Zhol" state program of infrastructure development for 2015-2019 years, which will increase the turnover by 1.6 times and the volume of transit cargo twice by 2020. Mr. Mereke Pshembayev, Chairman of Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the RK, told about this during a press conference in Central Communication Service, reports BNews.kz correspondent.
"Today, active work is underway to build an efficient transport and logistics of the country. For this a large-scale modernization of transport infrastructure is being held under "Nurly Zhol" state program of infrastructure development for 2015-2019 years, which will increase the turnover by 1.6 times and the volume of transit cargo twice by 2020.
In general, all projects implementation is being carried out according to the schedule. Under all road projects in the framework of “Nurly Zhol" Program, including related industries, will be involved about 200 thousand people", - he said.
Talking about the road sector infrastructure projects, Mr. Pshembayev noted that overall by 2020 more than 7,000 km of roads will be reconstructed and constructed with a total cost of 2.4 trillion tenge, of which 1 trillion tenge will be International Financial Institutions loans.
