Taraz. KAZINFORM - Until the end of 2014 it is planned to hand over for temporary operation two sections of Western Europe - Western China corridor with total length of 67 km in Zhambyl region, informed the press service of akim of the region.

Contractors of road construction works are the companies "AKM" and "KCC E&C" JSC.

As part of "Western Europe - Western China" project today in Zhambyl region put into temporary operation 8 sections by the following contractors: "Kazakhdorstroy", " JV KCC/Zhambylzhol-kurylys", "K-Dorstroy", "JV Kazahdorstroy/Hyundai", "KCC", "AKM".

Full completion of the project is scheduled for 2015, after the construction of the 65-kilometer long Taraz bypass.

The axis of a new highway in Zhambyl region is mainly under the existing Almaty - Tashkent - Termez highway bypassing the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The road includes construction of bypasses in Kuyuk, Shakpak, Taraz, and a number of settlements (Shakpak-ata, B.Momyshuly, Aisha-Bibi, Kulan, Kordai).

Percentage of Kazakhstan content of procures materials in the construction of highways in the territory of Zhambyl region is 100%. Contractors, some Subcontractors, affiliates of General Contractors involved in the construction, are registered in the region and pay taxes to local budget.

We remind that the works since 2010 is being held under construction of "Western Europe - Western China" international transit corridor with total length on the territory of Kazakhstan 2787 km. Zhambyl region highway will pass through 495 km.

"Western Europe - Western China" corridor is the fastest way for transportation of goods from China to Europe, one of the major international transport and transit nodes on the way from East Asia to Western Europe.
