From the reporting meeting of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov for the citizens

Providing the high quality, express and safe roads is a key task of infrastructure development.

Based on the results of last year, Kazakhstan opened to traffic on the road sections with a total length of 641 km, in particular:

- Temirtau-Karaganda-Balkhash-Kapshagai (1,056 km) and out of that, 61 km road is Karaganda-Temirtau and the bypass of Karaganda;

- Center - East Corridor (914 km) - 249 km (180 km - Nur-Sultan-Pavlodar, 69 km - Pavlodar-Semey);

- Kokshetau - Petropavlovsk – border of Russian Federation (260 km) - 16 km (7 km - access to the city of Kokshetau, 9 km-Petropavlovsk-gr. RF);

- Beineu - Akzhigit (85 km) - 85 km;

- Taskesken - Bakhty (187 km) - 18 km;

- Schuchinsk - Zerenda (80 km) - 80 km;

- Kandyagash-Makat (359 km) - 26 km;

- Zhetibay - Zhanaozen (73 km) - 73 km.

Rectification of the defects: 1,100 km of republican and 3,500 km of regional and district local roads have been remedying the defects and rehabilitated.

This work resulted in 88% of republican roads to be improved in good and satisfactory condition. Indicator for local roads was 71%. The share of roads of I and II Categories in the republican network increased up to 34% (8,200 km).

This year, 9,500 km of national and local roads have already been repaired. Construction and reconstruction are being carried out on 4,000 km of roads of the republican network (Karaganda-Balkhash-Kapshagai, Aktobe-Atyrau-Astrakhan, Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kalbatau-Maikapshagai, Kokshetau-Petropavlovsk-Kurgan, Uzynagash-Otar, Merke-Burylbaital, Kostanai-Denisovka, Usharal-Dostyk).

It is planned to open traffic on road sections with a total length of 2,600 km by the end of 2020, in the following road sections:

- Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk (763 km) - 763 km;

- Karaganda-Balkhash-Kapshagai (955 km) - 645 km (363 km - Karaganda-Balkhash, 282 -Balkhash-Kurty);

- Aktobe – Atyrau-Astrakhan (725 km) - 279 km (60 km - Atyrau-Astrakhan, 219 km - Kandyagash-Makat);

- Kalbatau-Maikapshagai (415 km) - 415 km;

- Merke-Burylbaital (266 km) - 266 km;

- Usharal-Dostyk (184 km) - 60 km;

- Uzynagash-Otar (96 km) - 56 km;

- Kokshetau-Petropavlovsk-Kurgan (260 km) -67 km (60 km - Petropavlovsk-Kurgan, 7 - km entrance of Kokshetau);

- Kostanay-Denisovka (114 km) - 60 km (Rudniy-Denisovka).

1,500 km of roads have been rehabilitated and out of which 1,100 km have been completed.

Till-date, there are 1,815 nos.  roadside service facilities, of which 894 (49%) nos.  meet the requirements of the National Standard. The Ministry, together with the oblast akimats, under an Agreement of Cooperation, work on increasing the number of roadside service facilities that comply with the National Standard.

This year, it is planned to build 23 nos. gas stations equipped with sanitary and hygienic units (SHU), as well as separately install 70 SHUs. Thus, 58% of roadside service facilities will be brought into line with the requirements of the National Standard.

An important objective of the Nurly Zhol State Program for 2020-2025 is to improve the quality of the local road network and provide the country's population with a safe and good road to home. The total length of the local network is 70,900 km.

This year, 4,000 km of roads are being repaired, 30,000 people are involved, and by the end of the year 75% of the local network roads will be improved to good and satisfactory condition. It is planned to repair more than 27,000 km of local roads by 2025, which, in turn, will enable bringing 95% of the regional and district roads to good and satisfactory condition.
