ALMATY. KAZINFORM - General Director of the Russian Interregional Association of Road Engineers "Soyuzdorstroy" Leonid Hvoinsky involved in the international rally "Khorgos-Almaty-Tursunzade" noted the new approaches in the construction of roads in Kazakhstan.

"Having passed the first stage of the route, I noted with satisfaction that Kazakhstan pays close attention to road industry from the side of President and Government of the country", - said Leonid Hvoinsky at a press conference in Almaty.

He noted the high quality of the route being constructed and he says that it is absolutely right to construct it from cement-concrete. "Unfortunately, Russia pays very little attention to the construction of such roads. For the climatic conditions of Russia, which in some cases coincide with Kazakhstan climate, cement is the most durable, reliable, modern and at the same time cheap pavement. We have seen cement-concrete pavement construction, subgrade, got acquainted with the construction of the bridge over the Ili River. And we make sure that all work is carried out at the level of the best international practice. I am sure that the road will serve for many decades, and not just for the people of Kazakhstan. I'm happy for your builders"- said the expert from the Russian Federation.

According to him, "Western Europe-Western China" project is being implemented in Russia, but not at such pace. "I think that the example of Kazakhstan will be the indicator for Russia, and section of the route passing through the territory of the Russian Federation will be implemented in the same performance. And it would correspond to the first category roads with four lanes - said L.Hvoinsky.

The expert recalled that in the framework of the Customs Union road safety regulations were adopted, under which today many regulations on construction has been developed. "Basically it will be a single, but each country will take into account at the same time its national features, as now it happens with European standards and Eurocodes. They are common, but there are also national applications. I believe that the national application, taking into account the climatic conditions in different countries, will continue to exist for a long time"- said the head of the Interregional Association of Road Engineers of Russia.
