In addition to A. Sarsenbekov’s Question No. 491, I inform you that on 21st of August (the date when the Answer has been published) the road from Chilik towards Almaty before Lavar was closed, namely there were 2 signs (at both road sides) prohibiting entry (Sign 3.1). It seems that you again do not have information. Please answer - when Almaty – Chilik road will be open?

Dear Andrew,

Thank you for your question. The traffic is still limited to give the construction workers opportunity to complete the road furnishing works. Signs removal and road opening for traffic is planned by the end of September of this year.
